Cabbage curry with dry coconut

Technically speaking I was damn bored of cabbage being cooked with coconut and green chillies with matar in it :P . Tried this in different way by usng dry coconut with red chillies and it actually came out better than former :-) Making it is much similar to fresh coconut, except the fact that I used chana dal which was soaked previous night instead of matar.

INGREDIENTS :-
Cabbage :- chopped 2-3 cups
Chana dal :- soaked in water previous night (a cup)
Dry coconut :- half of copra shell
Dry Chillies :- 2-3
Salt :- as required
Oil :- 2-3 teaspoons
For temperng\seasoning\tadka
Chana dal :- a teaspoon
Urad dal :- a teaspoon
Jeera :- a teaspoon
Mustard seeds :- a teaspoon
METHOD :-
  1. In a pan heat oil add all the tempering and allow them to sizzle.
  2. Add chopped cabbage , soaked chana dal and salt .
  3. Mix well and close the lid. Do not add any extra water.
  4. Meanwhile grind together dried coconut and dry chillies into coarse powder.
  5. Stir the cabbage with ladle n between and cook until done.
  6. Add the coconut-dry chilli powder and mix well again and simmer for few more minutes
  7. Eat it hot with rice/roti
