Onion pakodi with tomato chutney
Rainy evening is reserved for hot hot snacks like mirchi bajji,onion pakodi or say potato fries with hot tea:). So last Sunday was rainy evening and India-Pakistan match(Hubby dear was watching it poor me was busy with something else so didn’t even know that it was India Pakistan match. I think it amounts to blasphemy:P ). So his order was onion pakoda and I had to make it . For a change,I didn’t deep fry them. Just roasted in oil with care. Here is the recipe
INGREDIENTS :
Onions :- cut longitudinally 2 big.
Green chillies :- chopped 3-4 adjust
Salt :- as required
Chilli powder :- adjust
Rice flour :- 2 -3 teaspoons
Corn flour ;- 3 teaspoons
Chic pea flour/senagapindi :- a cup
Water :- as required
Curry leaves :- crush 4-5 leaves
Oil :- 2 tablespoons
METHOD :-
- Mix all ingredients except oil into a nice batter. It should be thicker than idli batter and thinner than chapati batter and onions should be more visible than batter itself.
- Heat oil in pan and crush batter with hands and drop batter into oil carefully. Roast them in regular intervls till they re golden brown.
- Serve hot
